After Mr. Magar Etmekdjian read this essay, he gave me many advices, and I did some revision.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

As far as I can remember, my handwriting is not my strong point. Strictly speaking, it's awful.

Mom always tells me, "You can't go through life with a bad handwriting. Sometimes beautiful writing is necessary, for example, love letters." People believe that personal writing on papers shows deeper feeling. I don't know whether people still believe this now, but my handwriting has never been improved. How bad is it? When I was a freshman, one of my final exams was penalized due to my ugly and unclear handwriting. I think the teaching assistant might be very angry when reading my papers.

Well, we'll get more experience as we grow up. There is some progress in my handwriting. even though it's not getting beautiful, but it's getting individual -- I could use less time to finish writing a character. My characters have been simplified, although it's still hard to recognize for others. Actually, sometimes recognizing the characters after several days is also hard for me, but this doesn't bother me at all. I transcribe most of information into computer.

I had considered whether to practice handwriting before and tried but given up. However, this situation happened seldom. After learning how to use the computer as a student in senior high school, I have never given it a try. It was the last straw that broke the camel's back. It's so convenient that making me think why to write by hand. Data stored in computer are much easier to be organized and searched. Also, typing is faster than writing in hand in both Chinese and English. What's more, you can choose any font you wish for the characters. So why should I waste time practicing handwriting?

Until now, the only inconvenient thing is taking notes. Although my hand-written notes in books will be transcribed onto the computer(or the Internet), reading and writing my notes would be easier if my handwriting was neater and better organized. If this were to happen, I wouldn't use up a whole page so quickly. Writing similar ideas on different pages is an obstacle to organizing thoughts. Returning to the topic of love letters, I have had no such need so far, and even if I do in the future, communication via the Internet would be more popular with the inherently lazy.
