Another mistake caused by getting up late, so I have less time to keep today's diary. This talk is still about getting up and going to bed.

From January first, getting up early is becoming easier for me. Maybe it's getting warmer or I've finally made up my mind. Anyway, it's a good thing to get up early by myself. What better is, I still can sleep until my eye is opened by itself, instead of being annoyed by the alarm clock. I hate the feeling to be terrified.

My roommate, try, said he'd like to go home before 22:00, go to bed before 23:00 and get up before 6:00. I can't agree him more, but it seems very difficult for me. Going home early is a piece of cake for me, the secret is not going out, just kidding. Many people would agree that keep going to bed early would also make you get up early, while the hardest point is that we hardly go to bed early. From lots of fail experiences, I learned one thing that the key point is not going to bed early itself but having a substantial day. Having a substantial day would make me satisfy and comfortable, and therefore close my eye at 23:00 without any regret. What drives me being awake after 23:00 is the void of my mind. Sometimes working too hard leads less entertainment, while sometimes too much entertainment leads less efforts. So I make it up by taking the time after 23:00.

Due to the memory leak, rebooting the computer after running a while becomes a NORMAL thing in Microsoft Windows. Although this sounds awkward in other Operating System, like MacOS, FreeBSD, Linux. It's said that the main memory leaker is FireFox, but who cares this when FireFox is such a powerful software. For me, inserting more memory cards would be a good idea if I have lots of money. Indeed, there has been 1GB memory by being inserted 2 cards.

Last night after rebooting the computer, it seems a little strange. The screen became all black. For a experienced user in Windows, the best approach is rebooting the computer again. It's time to go bed, so turning off the computer would be a better idea. At least I could get rid off the annoying noise caused by the CPU fan. Therefore, I turned off it.

As soon as I went to bed, finding a horrible thing makes me hard to sleep. It's too quiet! I've never been in such a quiet environment for a long time, and the quiet makes me uncomfortable. I could even hear some strange high frequency sound around my ears. Maybe it's due to the difference between the atmospheric pressure and my head. What worse is hearing other little noise from people who live in other floors, or other buildings. This strange situation bothers me for a while, but it takes not a long time to fall asleep. The other good thing is having a good dream about my friends in junior high school.

Everyone knows concentration is very important attitude, so do I.

I often think that being more outstanding is not hard if I could concentrate on everything, while I couldn't. Making a simple experiment, keeping recording the continuous time of each thing, shows I could keep at most a half hour of concentration. After trying many times, knowing the results won't be changed makes me sad. It seems like a easy thing, but it may not be that easy as I think.

Here is a simple math. We have 24 hours a day. Subtracting the necessary time for having meal and sleeping from 24, we still have about 14 hours. You may spend additional 2 hours watching animations, reading comics or surfing on the net like me. Therefore, there is 12 hours remained, and this is enough to do lots of things if we use them well.

Latest the improvement in writing in English is getting slow. Maybe it's time to read some English fictions and study the grammar.

In the beginning, I studied a chapter of the grammar book and then wrote an essay, but the grammar is getting harder to understand. I need read more English essays and increase the experience in reading, and therefore I can understand the grammar and use it well. Grammars are rules extracted from the sentences themselves, and we can't understand the rules without rich samples. So I think what I need now is much more reading and analysis of the sentences.

Of course I've read in English for many years, the reading skill is getting improved, but the improvement is too slow to accept. I think I didn't use the time right when reading in the past. Reading with analyzing grammars would get more effects.

Finally, I got up and went to bed early yesterday. Strictly speaking, it's not early but not late.

Within a good morning is the most wonderful thing of a day. Usually I do the necessary things in the morning and keep the entertainment as latter as I could, while I was getting sleepy, so I watched a Japanese drama to keep awake. After watching two episodes, it's noon and I must go to the university to discuss the DS demo and attend the seminar.

The seminar was not bad. The speaker introduced how to organize the computer auxiliary system to help scientists research. For example, make some labor works automatic. It should be a interesting speak, but I felt some sleepy and therefore I found a lost memory that I always feel sleepy during 10:00 ~ 12:00 and 13:30 ~ 15:30. Why I forgot this habit? Because I have slept till the noon for the whole December. This prevents the course during 10:00 ~ 12:00, and I won't be sleepy after getting up, so being awake during 13:30 ~ 15:30 is sure. Getting up in the noon do have some benefit.

Originally I'd like to skip the diary today because my hand is hurt due to the play of basketball yesterday. But now it seems like my hand not that hurt as I think and there is one hour to have the dinner, it's a good time to keep a diary.

Last afternoon, after finishing watching the animation, Kanon, I felt somewhat sorrow. The most characteristic in Kanon is it would make the audiences happy, sorrow and warm. Playing piano is a good way to sweep the sorrow away, but there is no piano in my room. While I was considering how to sweep the sorrow away, my roommate called me, he said he forgot his keys in the home. He hoped I could bring his keys to him. According the original schedule, I should be going to do jogging. Therefore I thought I could bring the keys to my roommate, and then went to the club to play the piano or found some friend to play the basketball.

Out of my expectation, kkggoo agreed to play the basketball when I arrived the university and called him. I remembered I've called him for several times before, every time he would hesitate for a while and say no. It's not manly at all, especially for a man who always says "Be a man!". While this happy rare basketball game became a tragedy. kkggoo is too powerful to defend, and my hand was therefore hurt.

Actually, I have never reviewed what I've done for the past years, I have reviewed what I've done when each semester ends instead.

According to the diaries before, I didn't do anything special on last January first. I practiced playing the piano music "Tifa's Theme" during the days near January first. It's a beautiful music, although Manic thinks it's a little unnatural. This song expresses too much emotion, and therefore it loses some natural feeling. For me, it's in accordance with my favorite. Being able to play the whole music is an effort of what I did in music. It's a pity that I haven't composed any new music and learned any music theory.

The biggest thing for earning money is getting a case from Institute of Education in NCTU. The professor wanted to demonstrate the motions of H2O in gas form, liquid form and solid form. The most challenge part is to take a snapshot of the motions, that is, pressing a button and then store the motions of current time in the database. This program is coded by Java. There are some other problems, like simulate the motions of H2O in different forms and design a not bad graphic user interface. Through using some tricks and learning some new techniques, I think I did the job well. After that, the professor conformed my ability. She thought a student who can program in Java well, can also program in PHP well. I don't know why she would think in this way, while the result was I got a long term job in the Institute of Education.

Yesterday Gene came to my room and had a talk. We discuss about the unwilling things when we concentrate on researches. Gene thinks we'll have much administration when we have a bigger research plan. He would like to prevent these things. After all, what we love is research. Taking too much time in administration is like putting the cart before the horse.

I think of what 李開復 said in the speech the day before yesterday. We should distinguish what we can change from what we can't change. I think we can't avoid the administration, so what I can do is change my mind. Either not doing the researches which requires lots of data or being willing to do the administration. I like the attitude of Arishia in ARIA. She enjoys everything, and therefore she has no annoyance. For a character in the animation, achieving this attitude is very easy. The author said "Yes, she enjoys everything", then she did. However, we don't need to be a 100% person who enjoys everything. We just keep trying to escape from the bad mood. Someday we could even have no bad mood when the annoying things that we thought before happened.

Or we can take the other way, like Albert Einstein who researches theoretical physics. I think he need only a few data, so he needn't do administration. On the other hand, Newton was President of the Royal Society. he used his power to make the members publish their data for his research. Obviously, Gene doesn't think "enjoy everything" is a good solution, while he takes this example. Maybe we can find some interesting research without lots of data. Therefore, we could have less administration.

Two days ago, I bought a special toothbrush which costs NTD 65.

I used to use the toothbrush which my mother bought, and I don't know what the difference is among the toothbrush. Since all my toothbrushes are broken and I won't go home latest, I bought a toothbrush in the convenient store. When you have no idea to choose the goods, the most expensive one would not be a bad choice except the cost. For the goods in a convenient store, the most expensive one wouldn't be too expensive to buy. Actually, it's NTD 70, but I think the shape of the head of the toothbrush is slightly normal. Finally, I chose the cheaper toothbrush with a special shape.

It's said that the brushes with different angle could help you clean the dead angles. After giving it a try, I felt it might help. At least, the touch is different than before, and the teeth were bleeding. I thought the bleeding was not a good fact before, while last time I went to see the dentist, she told me my teeth are sick. If there is no bleeding while I brush my teeth, it means I am not brushing them thoroughly. Therefore, the new toothbrush may be better than the old ones.

I waked up at 11 and found that I escaped another course which began at 10. After having the lunch, I considered whether I should go to attend the speech or not. The speaker is 李開復, a very important person in Google. He worked in Microsoft before. I thought 李開復 has to come to Taiwan by airplane, while I come to the speech place by motorcycle. There is a few change he'll come again, so it's worth to attend the speech. I don't expect he'll give a excellent speech, I think he would give the same normal speech as he gave about a half year ago. However, this time he really did a great presentation.

This time he didn't introduce what Google is, instead he told how to make a wise choice. This is the best speech I've attended, and the skill of the presentation was excellent. I can't believe the speaker was the most awful teacher when I was born. I'll write the detailed review on my main Blog.
